Busy and friendly veterinary team seeks a vibrant and organised receptionist to join our Ruislip surgery.

This role will suit someone who enjoys communicating with the public, has a passion for small animal pets and has the ability to work well under pressure with good IT skills.

Job description

Hours of work : 40 hours per week. Part Time job shares will also be considered

Aim of our reception team role : To provide a friendly, efficient and professional reception service to our clients.

Main duties

  • To maintain client records
  • To be the first point of contact for clients, including booking appointments, taking payments and dealing with all general enquiries. 
  • To undertake reception duties including keeping the reception area clean and tidy
  • To comply and assist with all requirements relating to GDPR compliance
  • Any other relevant duties which may be required

Knowledge and skills required

  • Excellent client care skills and telephone manner
  • Knowledge of the range of services that the surgery provides (full training will be given)
  • Cashier skills and ability to request money from clients
  • Competently speak and write the English language
  • Competence in the use of computers and Microsoft Office software
  • Familiarity with commonly used veterinary terms and drugs an advantage
  • Have an understanding of basic Health & Safety procedures

Experience Required

  • Veterinary Receptionist: 1 year (Preferred) OR
  • Customer Service: 2 years (Preferred)
