Dog Vaccinations

Vaccination is essential for protecting dogs against a range of life threatening diseases. Puppies should receive their first vaccination from 9 weeks of age, followed by a second vaccination 3–4 weeks later. We currently use the Versican Plus vaccine range.

Although early vaccination is extremely important, ongoing protection throughout your dog's life is essential. We recommend annual booster vaccinations every 12 months.

Our canine core vaccination protects against:

Infectious Canine Hepatitis (Canine Adenovirus)

Kennel Cough Vaccination

Kennel cough vaccination can be administered at the same time as your dog's routine annual vaccination. We use the oral Versican Plus kennel cough vaccine, which allows it to be given alongside your dog's regular booster appointment.

Canine Bordetella Bronchiseptica

We recommend kennel cough vaccination for dogs that:

Stay in boarding kennels

Attend doggy daycare

Regularly socialise with other dogs

Visit parks, training classes or dog shows

Kennel cough is a highly contagious respiratory infection and vaccination can help reduce the risk and severity of illness.

Cat Vaccinations

Cats are vulnerable to several infectious diseases that can significantly affect their health and welfare. Many of these illnesses are viral and may cause lifelong health problems.

Even indoor cats can be at risk from highly contagious diseases such as cat flu. Cats staying in catteries are particularly vulnerable due to close contact with other cats.

Kittens should receive their first vaccination from 9 weeks of age, followed by a second vaccination 3-4 weeks later. We currently use the Versican Plus vaccine range.

To maintain protection we recommend annual booster vaccinations every 12 months.

Rabbit Vaccinations

Vaccinations help protect rabbits from severe infectious diseases and prevent the spread of potentially fatal infections to other rabbits.

Rabbits can be vaccinated from 5 weeks of age. Until they are fully vaccinated, rabbits should be kept indoors. However, even indoor rabbits remain at risk as these diseases can be spread by flying insects, contaminated hay and other items brought into the home.

The standard Nobivac Myxo-RHD Plus vaccine protects against:

Myxomatosis

Rabbit Viral Haemorrhagic Disease 1 (RHD1)

Rabbit Viral Haemorrhagic Disease 2 (RHD2)

Yurvac RHD Vaccine

We also offer the Yurvac vaccine, which provides protection against a newer strain of RHD2 that has been identified in Europe.

Rabies Vaccination

Rabies vaccination is not routinely required in the UK and is generally only necessary if you plan to travel abroad with your pet.

Our Official Veterinarians (OVs) can provide the required Animal Health Certificate (AHC) for travel to the EU.
